Introduction To FP AHUs

The setup and configuration of an FP AHU is one of the most involved processes of the WEMS user interface, with a wealth of features available to fine-tune the control of the FP AHU.

The topics below cover how to set up and configure an FP AHU:

FP AHU Versus AHU

A standard AHU requires a WEMScontroller3 in order to modulate certain parts of the equipment via a 0–10V output. An FP AHU controls the AHU via relays (digital outputs) and analogue temperature monitoring. The setpoints used by an FP AHU differ from those used by a standard AHU.

FP AHUs do not provide any heating controls – their primary use is to keep the space temperature cool, hence their typical use in a telephone exchange environment.

FP AHU Control Strategy

An outline of the control strategy can be seen in FP AHU Control Strategy Basics.
