Introduction To Rako

Rako is a standalone wireless dimming system used mainly in the home market, and is provided by Rako Controls Ltd. A RakoSerial interface connects to the WEMSprogrammer, allowing the WEMS system to issue commands as if it were part of the Rako wireless network.

Once a Rako Object has been set up, clicking on it on the Floorplan will allow the user to choose a lighting 'scene'.

Lighting Scenes

Lighting scenes are pre-programmed lighting levels that Rako devices use to control the level of dimming applied to the lights. The available lighting scenes are 1, 2, 3, 4 and Off (to switch the lights off altogether).

Setting Up A Rako Object

To set up a Rako Object, do the following:

  1. Attach a RakoSerial interface to the WEMSprogrammer.
  2. Run the Rako Discover Wizard.

Switching Between Lighting Scenes

Once a Rako Object has been set up, switching between lighting scenes is simply a case of selecting the Object on the Floorplan (see example below) and then clicking the relevant buttons in the Info Panel on the left-hand side of the screen. Alternatively, the user can choose the desired setting using the Rako wireless wall panel.
