Dampers are optional controls that help to regulate the operation of an AHU. By opening and closing at the right times, dampers control how much air leaves the system (i.e., the air that goes out of the property) and how much is recirculated back into the system.
Some AHUs contain damper controls but damper controls are not an essential part of the AHU.
Damper Settings
Dampers operate in a range of 0V to 10V.
A high voltage means that the dampers are open. Air is allowed to leave the system and is not recirculated. At 10V, the dampers are fully open.
A low voltage means that the dampers are closed. Air is prevented from leaving the system and is instead recirculated. At 0V, the dampers are fully closed.
To amend damper settings, use the AHU Control Screen.
