This option is an essential feature of the WEMS user interface and should be used whenever a change has been made that you are sure you would like to retain beyond a reboot of the system.
To perform a backup:
- Go to | .
The backup process occurs silently, i.e., no window or confirmation dialog is presented when the menu option is chosen – the system simply performs a backup of the current state.
When the system is rebooted it will revert to the last backed-up state – so it is important to ensure that backups are performed regularly in order to minimize the need to re-enter settings.
If an unwanted change has been made and the system has not been backed up since the time of that change, deliberately rebooting the system will effectively undo the change by reverting to the last backed-up state.
Some changes are automatically saved as they are made and hence are not affected by the use of the backup feature. For example, changes to the Floorplan and changes to Schedules will both persist across a reboot even if a backup has not been performed.
